The length of highways is 18,000 km. Of these, 12,920 km are paved roads. And roads with dirt covering – 5,080 km.
There are three official motorway sections in Albania: Durrës-Kukës (A1), Fier-Vlorë (A2) and partially Tirane-Elbasan (A3).
Toll roads in Albania
In Albania, the only toll highway is A1 Durres – Kosovo with a length of 114 km. The highway starts from the port city of Durres and ends at the border with Kosovo. In Kosovo, the extension of the highway is the R7 highway.
There is only one toll booth on the highway, located next to the Kalimash tunnel, 34 km from the border with Kosovo. Payment by cash or credit card is possible.

Alcohol
Maximum permissible blood alcohol level 0.1 ‰ .
If the blood alcohol level exceeds the legal limit, a fine of ALL 2,500 to 10,000 (€ 24 – 97) and a driving license suspension of 6 to 12 months will be imposed.
If a driver refuses to take a blood alcohol test, a fine of ALL 5,000 to 20,000 (€ 49 – 194) and a driving license suspension of 6 to 12 months will be imposed.
